I have been taking Protocel 23 for about 10 years now for Hepatitis C. When I first started Protocel, my ALT and AST levels were elevated into the high 50's and my viral load was over 5 million. After 3 months, they dropped into the 30's, which is in the normal range and the viral load dropped as well, but not enough to make a significant difference. The levels have fluctuated over the years and dropped as low as the 20's, but have not elevated out of the normal range in all this time. As far as the viral load, even though the number is high, I feel great, and I believe the dead cells are being included in the high number which now at 1.5 million. I now take 2 bottles a year and have my levels checked every June.
